I have short afro/white hair (im biracial) it just barly touches my shoulder.

I love tto straighten my hair, not cause i hate curly (i love curly hair) but I can only have one hairstyle per day if its curly. cause i hv to use hairsprayfor a sports updo, If i want a new hair style i hv to take another shower . but at night when I do stuff with my "homies" (lol) i want a casual up do or half up/down. Both of which doesnt go well with my natural hair.

I live in kodiak, ak, which is a rain forest. We have alot of misty type rain and some quick showers, an sometimes it just pours (which is pretty uncommon)

My hair is alot smoother and thicker than affro hair but its very close. I was adopted and my mom is white and not very hair oriented in general so she had to tke me to a black hair stylist.

Iv bn using afro products evr since (my hair works best with those, im more black than white, cept i hang with too mny white people lol)

So the last time i got a perm was a couple yrs ago. and then i went back to her (the stylist) lst may and she just did non chemical straightning. It stayed straight alot better than usual non chemical straightening. She used a different product an gave some to me. Its Design Essentials silk essentials for relaxed and natural hair. If I use hair spray then a straightener to keep my mohawk straight up, will I catch my hair on fire?

Basically, I just got my hair cut yesterday for my mohawk. Had my friend spike it up for me this morning since I wasn't too sure how to. I heard a girl talking about how she bought this slightly expensive comb for her hair. I know that its bad to brush your hair when its wet, but since I don't have a comb, i do that anyway. Ok ,so i asked for this hair style at the salon, and they layered my hair and thinned it out so i could get it like this down below.

My problem is, when i asked how to style my hair like this in a previous question, i was told i have to straighten it, and then apply some mouse and a little bit of styling wax, to make the side parts more noticeable and edge like.

Though when i asked in another question:

Which goes first, do i put mouse in my hair and then straighten it or straighten my hair and then put mouse in it? People told me putting mouse in my hair after straightening it defeats the purpose of straightening your hair in the first place..

I can accept that answer… but then…. how do i achieve the look that this guy has in his picture? straightening it alone, doesn't make it look like that, close to, but the edges need to be more spiky and stick out, which i can only imagine would work if i used mouse and wax after straightening it.

What are your thoughts? I'm confused by everyone's mixed responses.

Can she perm her bleached hair?

well, my sister wants to perm her bleached hair. she bleached it for the first time in the month of October '09, and then again in like February around presidents weeks, oh and then second time she did it; it was a temporary bleach. And so she wants to perm her hair around July. is it okay for her to perm her hair? she takes really good care of it, washes it everyday with shampoo and conditioner. And after a while uses a deep conditioner. and oils and Vaselines. Her hair isn't good but it isn't bad either, there like a lot of small curls. so is it okay?
